Install Kruti Dev, step by step.
Download a font, install it on your computer, then select it in your document editor.
Windows 10 and Windows 11
- Download Kruti Dev 010 or choose another font from the library.
- If you downloaded the complete ZIP, right-click it and choose Extract All first.
- Right-click the TTF file and choose Install. Windows 11 may put this under Show more options.
- For all users, choose Install for all users if you have administrator permission.
- Reopen Word and select the font by name.
macOS
- Download and extract the font if necessary.
- Double-click the TTF to open Font Book.
- Choose Install and follow any validation prompts.
- Reopen your editor and choose the installed font.
Using the font in Microsoft Word
Select the text that uses the matching legacy encoding, then choose Kruti Dev 010. For new typing, refer to the keyboard character chart. A font changes glyph appearance; it is not an English-to-Hindi translation tool.
Still not working?
- Font missing: check the operating system’s installed fonts, then restart the editor.
- English-looking output: select the matching Kruti Dev font for legacy text.
- Garbled Hindi: the document may use another legacy mapping or Unicode; changing fonts cannot fix an encoding mismatch.
- Sending a document: use Unicode where practical, or export a PDF and verify the resulting text appearance.
For mobile devices, font support is app-specific. Downloading a TTF will not change your phone’s system font or keyboard.
